The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program

روش مهاجرتی استان ساسکاچوان
Update (2026): Saskatchewan’s nomination allocation has been sharply reduced since 2025. There have been no Expression of Interest draws for the Occupation In-Demand and Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-categories since September 2024, and no draws have been announced for 2026. The province is currently prioritizing candidates already in Canada and occupations in health care, agriculture and the trades. The points grid (minimum 60 out of 110) still applies.

About the Saskatchewan immigration program

In past years, Saskatchewan’s program was one of the easiest routes to Canadian immigration, but with the province’s reduced allocation, competition is now much stronger.

Like other provinces, Saskatchewan runs a provincial nominee program for foreign workers. What sets it apart is that, like Express Entry, it uses a points system.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has several categories. Here we focus on one: the International Skilled Worker category.

The International Skilled Worker category has three sub-categories:

  1. If you have a job offer from a Saskatchewan employer: International Skilled Worker – Employment Offer
  2. If you are eligible for federal Express Entry and have a profile: International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry
  3. If you are not eligible for Express Entry and have no job offer but meet the program’s minimum requirements: International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand

You are scored on your qualifications. If you reach the minimum score, you enter a pool, and in each draw the province selects candidates starting from the highest score until the draw’s quota is filled.

To understand this better, look at the SINP points grid. See the points grid here.

The better your profile in the following areas, the higher your score:

  • Education: 12 to 23 points
  • Skilled work experience in the past five years: 2 to 10 points
  • Work experience 6 to 10 years ago: 0 to 5 points
  • English and French ability: 0 to 30 points
  • Age: 0 to 12 points
  • Job offer from a Saskatchewan employer: 30 points (this places you in the Employment Offer sub-category)
  • Close relative in Saskatchewan: 20 points (Saskatchewan Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand only)
  • Past work experience in Saskatchewan: 5 points (Saskatchewan Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand only)
  • Past study in Saskatchewan: 5 points (Saskatchewan Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand only)

If you can score at least 60 points in total, you are eligible to take part in the program.
